In the Western Cord of El Maitén sierra, to more than 1200 meters up to the level of sea and on the hillsides of the Blue Hill we can find the Mountain Activities Center of El Maitén Andean Club. |  |
| There a Mountain Refuge is building and soon they will settle new elevation means that will allow to enjoy the practice of the alpine or Nordic ski in the winter. |  |

But...
without snow the activity doesn't end! The rest of the year one can enjoy
the magnificence of the lenga wood out walks on foot or to horse, or to
reach the summit and to enjoy the spectacular transition landscape among
the Patagonian Andean Forest and the Steppe, or to sight the abundant birds
fauna that inhabits the Mountain range.
In the autumn, other spectacle...
the lengas bleeds with their characteristic reddish color and the polichromy
of green, ochres, yellows, of the season starts, offering an unforgettable
natural show to our view.

| With two hints
of 400 and 600 metes of longitude, aided by the thick forest, in the best
winters it can be practiced ski until the month of November.
As it can be appreciated in the image inferior, taken in the middle of month of January, the snow is conserved in some valleys until very advanced the summer. |
