Vuelta del Río Aborigin Reserve

Traveling to the South by #40 National Route, near to 25 Km from El Maitén we find the Aborigin Reserve called "Vuelta del Río" (river turn), site that receives its denomination for be the site where Chubut river "turns" to the East, in its way to the Atlantic Ocean.

Composed by approximately thirty families of mapuche descendants whic principal subsistence source is the goat cattle farming, this aboriginal community shares the surround nature with the plentiful biodiversity of this fluvial valley, using the river current to irrigate their orchards.

Excellent site for fishing, crossing the Chubut river by a little bridge recently constructed we can ascend to the last hills of El Maitén Oriental Sierra, finding in a trek between water-eyes any "guanaco" group, and the houses of some of the countrymen that, from the start of times, are the authentic "land owners"
